How the original Centurion bonus wheel works

The number of BONUS symbols changes the choices on the wheel. Three symbols anywhere on the reels include all four rounds: Prizes on Parade, Road to Rome, Wild Power Spins and Caesars Free Spins. Four remove Prizes on Parade. Five leave Road to Rome and Wild Power Spins.

You spin the wheel to receive a feature; you do not pick whichever round you prefer. The size of a wheel segment should not be read as its exact chance of landing. The game’s rules make that distinction, so counting the visible options does not establish the odds of each bonus.

Prizes on Parade: shields and a collect ending

Three shields carry prizes, arrows and collect positions. A prize adds to the running total, an arrow moves play to the next shield, and a collect pays its attached prize before ending the feature. The shield values multiply the total stake. For example, a combined award of 12x would be £6 on a 50p total bet.

Road to Rome: follow the dice trail

The centurion moves around a board according to the dice, gathering prizes along the way. A dice square adds two rolls. Once a prize or extra rolls have been awarded, that square becomes an arrow; landing there again advances the figure one square.

Rome can be reached at the end of the trail or through a Go to Rome square. Reaching it adds a randomly selected prize to the running total. Watch the rolls remaining as well as the position on the board: distance alone does not tell you how many moves remain.

Caesars Free Spins: two wheels before the reels

One wheel determines the number of free spins and another supplies the multiplier for their wins. These are separate parts of the award. A larger multiplier increases a qualifying win, while more spins give the round more individual results; neither tells you in advance what the final total will be.

Wild Power Spins: three spins across the middle reels

This feature has three spins. Three wilds are placed vertically on reel two for the first, then on reel three for the second, and reel four for the last. Any wins from each stage contribute to the feature total. Follow the highlighted reel through the sequence rather than expecting an open-ended free-spins round.

The random reel modifiers

Four separate effects can appear during ordinary play. Super Bonus Reels adds bonus symbols for a spin. Reelus Maximus introduces a symbol occupying a three-by-three area. Five of a Kind supplies at least one five-symbol win, while Big Win produces a win involving the high-paying Centurion symbol. They are base-game modifiers, distinct from the four rounds selected by the bonus wheel.

The original Centurion rules describe the reel sequence and modifiers alongside the wheel. Their 95% RTP belongs to that original game configuration.

Centurion or Centurion Megaways?

Megaways replaces the original’s 20 fixed paylines with a changing layout offering up to 117,649 ways to win. It adapts Prizes on Parade, Caesars Free Spins and Wild Power Spins, with Super versions of those features. That is why a bonus name can look familiar in the demo even though the reel behaviour has changed.

In Megaways free spins, winning cascades increase the multiplier, and the feature can retrigger. The wheel sets the initial free-spins award, but the multiplier can then develop during the round. The original’s Caesars feature instead applies the multiplier selected by its wheel. Look at which edition is open before comparing the two totals.

Inspired’s Centurion Megaways specification gives a £250,000 maximum cash prize and 95.90% RTP. A cash amount is not the same as a multiple of every stake, and these sequel figures should not be copied onto the original. For the game you open, use its own paytable and payout limit.

Reading the wheel, shields and dice without mixing them

Centurion’s normal reel result uses twenty fixed line paths. A qualifying line starts on the leftmost reel and continues across adjacent reels. The wild substitutes for ordinary symbols, but not BONUS. Counting three scattered BONUS symbols is a different check from tracing an ordinary paying line: they can appear anywhere to start the wheel.

The wheel changes its available rounds with the number of BONUS symbols. It does not become a player selection screen. Five symbols leave Road to Rome and Wild Power Spins, but that does not establish a fifty-fifty probability from the two visible names. The help explicitly warns that the picture need not represent the selection probabilities.

Prizes on Parade accumulates shield awards until a collect ends the sequence. An arrow moves to another shield; it is not a prize in itself. Road to Rome instead tracks movement and dice rolls. If a hypothetical trail has one roll remaining, a dice square adds two rolls. A previously used award square becomes an arrow, so returning to its position does not simply award the original amount again.

Caesars Free Spins separates the number of turns from their multiplier. In an illustrative feature with a 4x factor, ordinary winning amounts of £1 and £3 contribute £4 and £12 after multiplication. Their £16 total does not include a guaranteed £4 payment for each losing spin. A larger spin-count award offers more results, while a multiplier changes qualifying wins. Neither is the final cash total.

Wild Power Spins follows a prescribed reel sequence instead. Its wild column occupies reel two, then three, then four. The result on each stage still depends on the other symbols along the active lines. A full wild reel is not a statement that the whole display has become wild. These distinctions make the four bonuses genuinely different, despite sharing the centurion character.

Centurion Big Money and Winner Grand Chance

Inspired’s Centurion Big Money announcement describes a five-by-three, ten-line release. Three or more Bonus symbols start its Big Money round, where a trail and cash-collecting Centurion replace the original’s four-round wheel structure. The Bush Pick Me event supplies another distinct stage. This is a later Centurion format, not an extra mode hidden inside the original twenty-line game.

Winner Grand Chance takes that cash-collector direction further. Its Bonus symbols feed a coin pot; bonus entry includes a free-spin selection and a starting trail position. Centurion collectors gather visible coins and advance the trail. Reaching its end applies a 10x factor to the collectors, while a collected Grand Chance coin awards a prize pot. Inspired’s Winner Grand Chance specification explains these separate events.

Use the full title when comparing displays. A shield wheel points to the original feature family; changing reel heights identify Megaways; coins and a progression trail belong to the newer cash-collecting formats. Their quoted RTP choices and cash ceilings apply to those editions. They should not replace the original’s 95% rulebook configuration or establish the exact settings used by the embedded Megaways demo.

An improving-symbol category is broader than Centurion’s fixed three-spin wild sequence, and a gamble risks an existing win rather than changing which wheel feature is selected. Use the game’s own help for those events instead of transferring Centurion’s bonus hierarchy.

Shields Of The Wild centres on wild expansion and a level-based feature on ten fixed lines. That gives the shield imagery a different mechanical role from Centurion’s off-reel Prizes on Parade collection. An expanding wild changes the symbol coverage of a reel; advancing a shield collection changes the accumulated award. The comparison is useful precisely because those events differ, rather than because either game can promise a smoother balance.
