The base game plays out much like the earlier Fishin Frenzy titles, card royals and pelican themed symbols paying across 10 fixed lines on a plain 5×3 grid. The real appeal sits behind the boat scatter, which needs 3, 4 or 5 landings anywhere on the grid to send the game into its free games round.
Once inside, the reels fill with fish symbols carrying visible cash values, but those values only pay out when a fisherman symbol lands on the exact same spin, reeling the fish in and awarding the printed amount.
