Joker’s Jewels: Five-Line Rules, Instant Bonus Pays and Editions

Jokers Jewels

The original Joker’s Jewels pays on five lines and gives a direct cash award for three to five bonus symbols anywhere on its five-by-three grid. It has no separate free-spin feature. Joker’s Jewels Wild, Cash and Hold & Spin change what those special symbols do, so their familiar artwork should be compared alongside their rules.

Joker’s Jewels or Master Joker?

Master Joker is another Pragmatic Play option to compare for a compact layout. It uses a single row across five reels, with the Joker on the middle reel enabling wins anywhere and a multiplier of up to 100x. That makes the middle position central to its rules. Pick the original Joker’s Jewels if you prefer a fuller three-row screen; consider Master Joker if you want to understand a game organised around one central symbol. The shared joker imagery does not make the two paytables equivalent.

Reading a Joker’s Jewels payout

Five lines across fifteen positions

The three rows provide fifteen visible symbol positions, but the original has five paying routes. A group of matching ordinary symbols scattered around the screen is not enough: it must satisfy a payline. Bonus symbols use a separate pay-anywhere rule, so they should be counted independently of those routes.

The distinction matters when reading a payout display. An amount quoted per line is not the same as a multiple of the total stake. With a hypothetical £1 stake divided evenly across five lines, each line carries 20p. A 50-times-line-bet award would then be £10, or ten times the total stake. This is a calculation example, not an entry from Joker’s Jewels’ paytable.

A bonus prize does not start a bonus round

The original’s three to five bonus symbols pay between 10x and 250x the stake. At a 20p total stake, those endpoints would be £2 and £50. The award comes from the symbols on that result; there is no free-spin counter to follow afterwards. Ordinary line awards and bonus-symbol prizes answer different questions, even when they appear on the same screen.

Pragmatic Play lists a total win limit of 1,040x for the original and a Joker-symbol award up to 1,000x. Those figures describe different things. A single symbol combination is not automatically the maximum combined payout for the round. Read the exact symbol count, winning route and payout unit together before comparing a displayed prize with either figure.

Choose the Joker’s Jewels edition by its bonus

The original counts bonus symbols and pays a direct prize on the result. Later titles reuse the character and five-by-three screen, but change the special-symbol rule. A title without the Wild, Cash or Hold & Spin subtitle should not be assigned those later features.

Wild: expanding substitutes and two scatter types

Joker’s Jewels Wild makes its Joker a substitute that always expands across its reel when it lands. Three or more ordinary scatters can pay directly; a second special scatter uses reels one, three and five. The role of the character has changed from the original’s paying symbol into a reel-filling wild.

This is the useful family option if expanded coverage matters most. An expanded reel is still different from a held money value that persists through later respins. The original instant-bonus paytable should not be imported into Wild merely because the bonus icons resemble each other.

Cash: revealing three matching jackpot labels

Joker’s Jewels Cash uses three to five bonus symbols to open a picking feature. Eighteen coins appear, hiding six possible jackpot labels. Picks continue until three matching labels are revealed, then the corresponding award is paid. This is a matching-label selection, rather than the original paying the landed bonus symbols immediately.

A revealed mini label and a revealed major label do not form a matching pair. Likewise, the number of coins displayed is the selection field, not a promise that every coin will pay. Identify the matching set and its prize before comparing the result with a total-stake multiplier.

Hold & Spin: new money symbols reset the counter

The 2026 Hold & Spin release needs three or more money symbols and begins with three respins. Only money symbols and blanks appear in that feature. Each new money symbol remains and resets the count to three; its value is collected when the sequence ends.

If one respin remains and a money symbol lands, the counter returns to three, rather than becoming four. If no new symbol arrives over the remaining three attempts, the round ends and the held values are paid. Filling all fifteen positions gives the edition’s 10,000x prize, which is separate from the original’s 1,040x limit.

Compare the same cash units

At an illustrative 40p total stake, the original’s 10x bonus endpoint is £4 and its 250x endpoint is £100. These are total-stake calculations for that bonus-symbol rule. A prize quoted per line must instead use the individual line stake, as in the five-line example above.

The later subtitles are feature choices rather than evidence of improved short-session returns. Compare immediate payout, a reveal-to-match pick and a persistent money-respin sequence first. Their different caps do not tell you which will win on the next round.

Pragmatic Play’s Cash, Wild and Hold & Spin descriptions distinguish these rules.

Games like Jokers Jewels

Joker’s Jewels uses a compact carnival design, with jewels, musical instruments and a jester among the symbols. The original game focuses on direct payouts. Pragmatic Play describes three to five bonus symbols anywhere on the grid paying 10 to 250 times the stake. These are prizes from the spin, not an award of free spins. That makes the game a different proposition from a slot built around collecting scatters to enter a long bonus round.

The four comparisons below separate games that look similar from games that play similarly. Joker Expand’s defining rule is conditional wild expansion. Joker Troupe uses three coloured bonus triggers, while Inferno Joker holds reels during respins. Neither a joker face nor a diamond icon establishes what a symbol does: it may be an ordinary paying symbol, a substitute or a trigger. Start with that role before comparing line counts or headline win figures.

Joker Expand 40 Lines, Joker Expand, Joker Troupe and Inferno Joker share the joker theme. The first two are the closest comparisons for ordinary paylines; the latter two add more involved feature sequences.

Joker Expand 40 Lines slot game
Joker Expand 40 Lines

Joker Expand 40 Lines has five reels and four rows, with forty separately defined paylines. Its original paytable places the expanding Joker on reels two, three and four. It expands to fill its reel when that expansion forms a winning combination. It cannot substitute for either scatter symbol.

The Gold and Diamond scatters pay separately from the lines. The Diamond appears on reels one, three and five, while the Gold has awards for three, four or five symbols. They are different symbols, so mixing two Diamonds with a Gold does not create three matching Diamonds.

Compared with Joker’s Jewels, this adds a substitution rule and a larger set of line paths. More lines do not make every visible group a winner. Follow the expanded Joker’s position and the matching symbols on the other reels; the expansion condition is more useful than assuming every Joker necessarily pays.

Joker Expand slot game
Joker Expand

Joker Expand is the original five-line Playson game, with five reels and three rows. The forty-line edition is a separate version with four rows. The original therefore matches Joker’s Jewels more closely in basic screen size and line count, while changing what the Joker can do.

Its original rules also describe conditional expansion on the three central reels, with scatters excluded from substitution. An expanding wild covers more positions on the current reel. It is not necessarily held for a later spin, and it does not turn a missing scatter into a bonus prize.

Choose the exact title before comparing paytables. The shared Joker Expand name does not establish identical prize values, stake settings or total-win limits across the five-line and forty-line editions. The smaller original offers a useful contrast with Joker’s Jewels’ direct bonus-symbol payouts without introducing Joker Troupe’s separate collection and wheel features.

Joker Troupe slot game
Joker Troupe

Joker Troupe starts with four reels, three rows and ten paylines. In Push Gaming’s feature guide, three Joker scatters of the same colour trigger that colour’s bonus. Blue starts hat collection, Green starts a wheel and Red starts Hypermode free spins.

During Blue, landed hats and Red Jokers remain in place and reset the remaining spins to three. Each set of three collected symbols opens another row. These retained prize symbols are not ordinary sticky wilds substituting into line wins. Green instead follows wheel segments, with different repeat conditions for coin prizes and boosters.

This is a much more substantial change from Joker’s Jewels than the artwork suggests. The original Red feature is timed, beginning with twenty seconds, rather than a fixed allocation of twenty spins. Blue and Green can lead into Red. Check the offered version’s timing and controls when comparing those historical feature rules with a current casino build.

Inferno Joker slot game
Inferno Joker

Inferno Joker is Play’n GO’s five-reel, three-row game with five paylines. Its published game rules make the central reel important: one Inferno Joker scatter on reel three starts respins. That reel is held, along with other reels carrying a Joker, while the remaining reels spin again.

During the feature, Joker symbols become Inferno Joker symbols. A new Joker on another reel holds that reel and awards another respin on the reels still available. The sequence ends when no further Joker appears or all reels have an Inferno Joker scatter.

The useful comparison is the change from an immediate prize to a continuing sequence. Joker’s Jewels counts its bonus symbols on the result and pays directly. Inferno Joker uses its central trigger to begin collecting held reels. Their matching five-by-three layouts do not make those triggers interchangeable, and a common line count says nothing about how often either feature will occur.

Other Joker’s Jewels versions

Joker’s Jewels Hold & Spin

The Hold & Spin edition’s money symbols differ from a wild. They hold a stated prize in their position while remaining spaces can reveal more values. A wild instead substitutes to form a winning combination. The full edition guide above explains the three-respin reset and full-screen award, while the original resolves its bonus-symbol prize on the initial result.

The original, Wild, Cash and Hold & Spin all use the Joker’s Jewels family name. Their subtitles identify different special-symbol roles: direct bonus pays, expanding substitutes, matching-label picks or persistent money symbols. Identify that role before comparing the familiar five-by-three screens.

Joker’s Jewels Wild

Joker’s Jewels Wild always expands its Joker wild, whereas Joker Expand’s original rules attach a qualifying-win condition to expansion. That trigger difference matters even if both results can show a full Joker reel. Hold & Spin supplies a money-symbol counter rather than either form of line substitution.

More games to play like Jokers Jewels

Joker’s Jewels uses a carnival palette and jewel symbols, while the alternatives below range from comic jesters to fiery characters. Treat the artwork as a way to recognise the title. The word “joker” does not consistently mean wild: Joker Troupe’s coloured Jokers trigger features, Joker Expand’s Joker substitutes and expands, and the original Joker’s Jewels has its own paying-symbol and bonus-symbol rules. The illustrated cards provide routes to those separate reviews.

Pragmatic slots

The leading Pragmatic slots, these slots are all created by the same producer as Jokers Jewels, the slots are The Dog House Megaways, Glorious Rome, The Wild Machine and John Hunter And The Aztec Treas.

Joker’s Jewels comes from Pragmatic Play, a supplier of digital casino games to operators. Its company overview distinguishes that supplier role from running a player’s casino account. The studio makes slots and live casino games, but a shared developer does not imply a shared paytable or bonus structure. Master Joker is a useful comparison precisely because its single-row layout differs from Joker’s Jewels.

The original’s jester and ordinary illustrated symbols have line-pay entries, while the crowned bonus symbol pays anywhere. Read each entry against its required symbol count and winning rule, rather than treating an unlabelled “points” figure as pounds or a multiple of the full stake. A row containing five symbols and a winning payline are not interchangeable descriptions. The payline diagram identifies the route; the paytable supplies the award. The bonus-symbol rule remains separate because those symbols can pay anywhere.

What is the return to player on Jokers Jewels?

Jokers Jewels has an RTP of 96.50%. That puts it in the medium-high RTP bracket. RTP is a long term average worked out over millions of spins, so treat it as a guide rather than what any single session will return. See more medium-high RTP slots here.

Who developed Jokers Jewels?

Jokers Jewels was built by Pragmatic. Browse the top Pragmatic slots here.

What features does Jokers Jewels have?

The original Joker’s Jewels pays line wins and direct bonus-symbol prizes. Its bonus symbols do not start free spins or a progressive jackpot. Joker’s Jewels Hold & Spin and Joker’s Jewels Wild are separate editions with different rules.

How volatile is Jokers Jewels?

Volatility describes variation in payouts, not a reliable timetable for wins. A lower rating does not promise a longer session or regular returns. Check the rating supplied with the offered version; the original’s five lines and direct bonus awards explain its mechanics, not how a particular session will end.

How much can you win on Jokers Jewels?

The top win on Jokers Jewels is 1040x your stake. That is the ceiling the game can pay on a single round, and hitting it is rare.

What is the grid size of Jokers Jewels?

Jokers Jewels runs on a 5 reel, 3 row grid with 5 paylines.

What is the minimum and maximum bet on Jokers Jewels?

Read the total Bet amount and applicable operator limit in the exact edition. A historical £0.05–£100 range does not establish every current configuration, and a larger feature cap is not a stake recommendation.
