Spielo legacy games and current IGT ownership context

Spielo logo

Spielo is a legacy gaming name, not a clearly separate current online-slot studio. Its history runs through the former GTECH group and the 2015 GTECH–IGT combination. Present-day products and rights therefore need to be checked against the relevant current IGT operation.

Current-status note: IGT’s Gaming & Digital business and Everi were combined under private ownership on 1 July 2025, with the combined business continuing under the IGT name. Historical Spielo attribution remains useful, but it does not establish a new Spielo release programme.

This existing record is retained for historical comparison. Its page should be checked alongside the live game’s provider credit, format and rules rather than treated as proof of a current standalone Spielo catalogue.

Why ownership context matters

A provider label can survive after businesses merge, brands retire or distribution changes. That makes a historical name useful for discovery, but unsuitable as the sole source for present ownership, licensing or support. The original developer, historical publisher, current rights holder, product format and market can all be different facts.

IGT’s official company material, captured July 2026, provides current context rather than evidence of an independent Spielo studio.

The 2025 transaction also separated the former lottery business, now Brightstar Lottery, from the acquired Gaming & Digital operation. This is why current IGT and historical GTECH references must not be collapsed into one timeless company description.

How to verify a Spielo-era game

Identify the format

A cabinet or land-based title is not automatically an online slot. Match the product version and delivery channel.

Check the provider line

Read the current game information screen for the precise studio, supplier and copyright credit.

Use title-level figures

Verify RTP, volatility, paylines, stakes and feature rules in the exact live build. Do not transfer figures between similarly named versions.

Confirm British access

Check the operator, supplying entity and game currently available in Britain. International distribution or an old company licence is insufficient.

Sources and verification notes

Verification limit: these sources support the corporate sequence and current IGT context. They do not prove that every Spielo-labelled record is currently offered online in Britain or has unchanged game mathematics.
