Rules in force

RequirementPractical meaning
Maximum 10× wageringBonus funds cannot be subject to a play-through requirement over ten times their value
No mixed-product incentiveOne offer cannot require two or more of betting, casino, bingo and lottery activity
No faster-spend enhancementThe benefit cannot be increased because qualifying activity is completed in less than the full offer period
Clear, fair, accessible termsMaterial conditions must be available before a consumer accepts

How to calculate the headline requirement

If the bonus funds are £10, a 10× wagering requirement means up to £100 of qualifying wagers on those bonus funds. Check the operator’s exact explanation of cash balance, bonus balance and qualifying play; do not assume a headline “10×” applies to only the smallest displayed amount.

Terms to read before accepting

  • Expiry date and time.
  • Eligible games and how much each game contributes.
  • Maximum stake while wagering, if stated.
  • Withdrawal, identity and account restrictions.
  • Whether winnings are capped and when funds move from bonus to cash balance.
  • Country, payment-method, new-customer and duplicate-account exclusions.

A compliant bonus is still an incentive to gamble. Do not deposit or continue playing solely to avoid “losing” bonus funds; you can decline an offer.

If terms conflict

Save the advert and the terms version, stop further qualifying play and ask the operator to explain the calculation in writing. Use its complaint process and approved alternative dispute resolution route where appropriate. The Gambling Commission considers regulatory issues but does not resolve individual disputes or recover funds.
