Reactoonz: Quantum Features, Gargantoon and Similar Slots

Reactoonz slot game logo — Play'n GO slot

Reactoonz is Play’n GO’s seven-by-seven cluster slot: five matching neighbours form a win, cascades charge Quantum features, and a full charge releases Gargantoon. This review separates the original’s queued effects from Reactoonz 2’s Electric Wilds and Reactoonz 100’s Energized Toon multiplier.

For a close alternative, compare Reactoonz 2’s electric wilds with the original’s queued Quantum features. Tome of Madness offers another cascading grid with a feature meter, but uses a smaller board and a Portal. The game explanations below show how those differences affect a round, followed by the gameplay screenshots and wider science-themed choices.

Reactoonz Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Winning clusters charge the Quantum Leap meters during a round. A charged meter queues a feature, so a cascade sequence can leave another board-changing effect waiting to play.
  • Gargantoon changes the size and distribution of wilds: one 3×3 block is followed by two 2×2 blocks and then nine individual wilds as the sequence progresses.
  • Four matching regular symbols arranged in a 2×2 square form a Giantoon. A winning cluster containing at least one Giantoon pays double, independently of reaching the full Gargantoon sequence.
  • The original has a configuration-specific theoretical return; a quoted RTP does not remove the variation in individual results

Cons

  • The game can finish a paid round without reaching Gargantoon. A partly filled meter is not saved as progress towards the next paid round.
  • There is no free-spins round at all; everything hinges on the in-spin modifiers, which can feel anticlimactic to players expecting a classic bonus game.
  • The historical 4,570x catalogue figure needs a loaded-rule check before it is treated as a complete-round limit
  • Several displays need attention: current clusters, charge progress, queued modifiers and the changing large wild

How Reactoonz Works

Looking for another version of Reactoonz? Our Reactoonz series comparison explains how the related releases differ.

The 7×7 grid pays for groups of five or more matching symbols touching horizontally or vertically. Winning symbols disappear and new ones fall into the spaces. Further winning groups continue the cascade sequence, with each win added to the round total. The Quantum Leap meters beside the grid show which features have been charged during that round.

Symbols and Paytable

One-eyed and two-eyed aliens form the regular symbol groups. Their values depend on the group size and paytable. Wilds can contribute to qualifying combinations, but a wild appearance is not itself a guaranteed cash award. The original game uses clusters rather than conventional paylines. Read the current cluster award separately from the accumulated round total, particularly when several cascades and queued effects play after the first result.

The Quantum Leap Features

The four Quantum modifiers do different jobs. Implosion creates three to six wilds and removes their neighbouring symbols. Alteration changes a selected symbol type into another type. Demolition removes the one-eyed symbols and matching symbols. Incision places a wild in the centre, with two diagonal lines of matching symbols crossing through it.

Completed charge meters queue these effects. Once ordinary cascades have stopped, a queued effect changes the grid and may start another set of wins. The round continues while wins or queued effects remain; the meters reset at the end of the round. This is why the grid can become active again after appearing to stop.

Gargantoon and Giantoonz

Gargantoon arrives when all five charge meters are full. The sequence starts with one 3×3 wild. When there are no further cascades, it changes into two 2×2 wilds, then nine separate wilds. New symbols fill the board between stages. Gargantoon does not simply roam indefinitely as an unchanged 3×3 block.

Giantoonz are different: four matching regular symbols arranged in a square combine into a larger symbol. A winning cluster containing one or more Giantoonz pays double. This can happen independently of reaching Gargantoon, so the similar names describe two separate features.

Reactoonz Player Reviews

Editor’s note: the comments below were gathered from long-running AskGamblers and EkstraPoint community threads rather than written or verified in-house by SlotsLike, and the headings and spin outcomes quoted are copied from those original posts. Treat them as a general snapshot of community sentiment, not a SlotsLike-endorsed review. Where a comment describes a mechanic Reactoonz does not actually have, such as a jackpot pool or a free-spins round, we have added a short correction rather than removing the comment.

Reactoonz similar gamesThis is the first-ever slot game for which I have nothing positive to say. The game is volatile but the jackpot is impossible to win. Even if you win the jackpot I doubt it will give you anything good as the jackpot on this game is very low as compared to other slot games. (Source: AskGamblers.com)

Rating: 1 / 5 Stars

Reactoonz does not have a separate jackpot pool. The quoted comment cannot establish an official maximum or the cause of a particular result; ordinary clusters and several modifiers may contribute to one round total.

Reactoonz slot machineThis slot is fantastic and is one of the main reasons why Play’N Go is famous. The graphics and the theme used on this title are great and the bonuses are very rewarding as well. (Source: AskGamblers.com)

Reactoonz could be betterI have been playing this game for months but I still can’t fully understand how it works and I have no idea how I won the mega jackpot. The graphics are great, the sound quality is ok, and the value versus payout is great as well. (Source: AskGamblers.com)

Rating: 3 / 5 Stars

Reactoonz has no separate mega-jackpot pool. Without the complete round and stake, the comment cannot identify which modifiers contributed or convert the reported cash amount into a verified stake multiple.

Reactoonz cloneThere is nothing to like about this game at all. I hate the 7 by 7 grid you get to play on, the payouts are really bad, and the bonuses are just the worst. I would recommend all of you to stay away from this game. (Source: AskGamblers.com)

Reactoonz welcome bonusesAt first, I was not a big fan of this game but soon enough I fell in love with it. My biggest win on this game is 300x my bet and I think I can win even higher. This game has a lot of potentials and is a great slot title in my opinion. (Source: AskGamblers.com)

Editor’s note: Reactoonz does not have a free-spins round; the game’s bonuses are the in-spin Quantum features (Implosion, Alteration, Demolition, Incision) and the Gargantoon and Giantoonz mechanics. The multipliers referenced here are real, the free spins are not.

Reading the original Quantum Leap panels

The original rule panel below shows twenty-five winning symbols as one charge. That counts symbols participating in wins, not pounds returned or paid spins completed. For an illustrative count, a group of five followed by groups of eight and twelve supplies twenty-five collected symbols. That sequence is three winning clusters within the round, not twenty-five free spins.

The queue and the charge display do different jobs. A completed charge adds a randomly selected modifier to the queue; a queued modifier changes the board when the current cascades stop. Several modifiers can be waiting. Completing a fifth charge adds Gargantoon, rather than treating the fifth meter as a cash multiplier.

Four matching aliens in a two-by-two square can form a Giantoon. The symbol’s larger footprint and double-win role differ from Gargantoon’s large-wild sequence. A four-position square alone is also not an ordinary minimum-five cluster. The question is whether that larger symbol takes part in a qualifying paying group. Similar names should not turn the two features into one rule.

The original illustrated Gargantoon starts as a three-by-three wild, then changes to two two-by-two wilds and finally nine single-position wilds as its stages finish. Instability is a separate chance for wild intervention on an initially non-winning result. Those rule images are more useful than interpreting a still of one large character as a complete bonus round.

Reactoonz 100: a different growing multiplier

Reactoonz 100 is a separate edition released in October 2025. Its Energized Toon makes one selected two-eyed symbol relevant to a growing multiplier. The multiplier can reach 100x, but applies to qualifying wins involving that symbol and resets when the round ends. It is not an automatic hundredfold increase to every original Reactoonz win.

The supplier describes fluctuating one-eyed symbols leaving wilds and an updated Gargantoon progression. That means the same alien artwork can conceal a different sequence. Read the 100 edition’s own help for its wild stages rather than carrying over the original rule panel’s three-by-three, two-by-two and single-wild order.

For a simple distinction, imagine an eligible win of £1 with a displayed 4x multiplier and another, ineligible win of £1. They would contribute £4 and £1, a combined £5. Multiplying the whole £2 by four would produce the wrong £8 total. These illustrative amounts explain why the qualifying symbol matters; they are not an observed Reactoonz 100 round.

The principal comparisons have separate reasons to choose them. The original uses queued modifiers and its original Gargantoon order. Reactoonz 2 makes Electric Wilds and two connected meters central. Reactoonz 100 introduces the Energized Toon multiplier. Tome of Madness offers a smaller cluster board with a Portal and positional eye target. Compare those individual changes before treating a higher feature number as a larger overall payout limit.

Reactoonz alternatives: what changes in the game?

Reactoonz 2: electric wilds and two meters

Reactoonz 2 keeps a 7×7 board and wins from clusters of five or more. Its Electric Wilds change how the features build. Winning clusters of the fluctuating symbol create an Electric Wild, while the Fluctometer collects removed fluctuating symbols and can add more. Symbols removed with Electric Wilds then charge the Quantumeter.

That separates two jobs that are easy to confuse: the Fluctometer creates Electric Wilds, and the Quantumeter works towards larger wilds. Uncharged wilds can also appear; they must be charged before acting as Electric Wilds. The original Reactoonz instead fills its five charge meters and queues Implosion, Alteration, Demolition or Incision. Choose the sequel comparison if you want to follow how individual wilds feed the next stage, rather than a queue of board modifiers. The Reactoonz series comparison covers the related titles.

Tome of Madness: a smaller grid and a Portal

Rich Wilde and the Tome of Madness uses a 5×5 board, with four matching symbols needed for a cluster. Like Reactoonz, it removes winning symbols, refills the spaces and uses those wins to charge another feature. The smaller grid and lower cluster threshold are immediate differences, even before the Portal becomes involved.

The Portal has stages at seven, 14 and 27 collected symbols, and opens Other World at 42. Its Abyss effect clears a Special Wild’s row or column; Void clears a selected symbol type. During Other World, wins over eye marks open them, and opening every eye releases Cthulhu as a Mega Wild. This is a closer comparison for Reactoonz’s progression from ordinary clusters into a large-wild event than a conventional science-themed payline slot. The triggers and the way the large wild moves are different, so the two games should not be treated as versions of the same rules.

Following one paid round

On Reactoonz, keep the current cluster win separate from the round total. A paid spin may produce several cascades, then a Quantum effect, then another cascade sequence. Those are stages of the same round. A board without an immediate win is not necessarily finished if a feature is waiting in the queue.

The distinction helps when reading the meter: it describes progress within the current round, not a balance of saved bonuses for later spins. Watch for the final end of the sequence before interpreting an empty meter as a reset. The screenshots farther down show the board and feature display together, which makes their relationship easier to follow.

More science-themed games alongside Reactoonz

The illustrated laboratory alternatives below mostly use conventional reels. They broaden the science-fiction setting. Reactoonz 2, Reactoonz 100 and Tome of Madness above are the closer comparisons for a cascade-to-meter sequence; the following games change the trigger and result format.

Potion Factory slot game — Leander Games

Potion Factory

Potion Factory uses a laboratory setting and a conventional reel display. Its wheel and wild-related bonus routes differ from collecting twenty-five winning symbols towards an original Reactoonz charge. A wheel event selects an outcome under its own rule, while a cluster cascade removes matching neighbours and creates another board. Choose this title to compare a different feature format around similar scientific artwork. Its five-by-four display is also smaller than the original’s seven-square grid. The illustrated logo identifies the alternative; it does not establish that the same meter or Gargantoon stages occur there.

Potion Commotion slot game — NextGen

Potion Commotion

Potion Commotion is a NextGen laboratory alternative with conventional line wins and a free-spin feature. The original Reactoonz has no separate scatter-triggered free-spin round. That is the useful distinction: a counter of awarded spins differs from charge progress within one paid cascade round. A conventional free-game result can still pay nothing, whereas a queued Reactoonz modifier can restart a board after ordinary cascades finish. A volatility label alone is not enough to promise that Potion Commotion will preserve a balance or produce shorter dry spells.

Nikola Tesla's Incredible Machine slot game — Yggdrasil

Nikola Teslas Incredible Machine

Nikola Tesla’s Incredible Machine puts a scientific machine around ordinary reels and reel-changing features. The mechanical comparison concerns how the reel set is altered, rather than a square cluster or the original Quantum queue. A changed reel area supplies more symbol positions under that game’s rules; it does not automatically count as a charged Reactoonz meter. Use the exact machine feature and its own paytable to understand the next result. The historical figure of twenty-five lines is a line count, separate from the twenty-five winning symbols described by Reactoonz’s charge panel.

Reactor slot game — Red Tiger

Reactor
Cat Wilde And The Incan Quest slot game
Cat Wilde And The Incan Quest
Gemix 2 slot game
Gemix 2

Reactor is a Red Tiger science-themed alternative with conventional reels and changing-symbol modifiers. Its theme and unpredictable-looking effects create a visual connection, but it does not use the original Reactoonz charge queue. In a reel game, altered symbols are evaluated through its own combinations; in Reactoonz, matching neighbours form connected groups. A large symbol or random wild therefore needs to be interpreted within that title’s result system. Compare Reactor for a different way of changing a main reel display, rather than applying Gargantoon’s size sequence to it. Cat Wilde and the Incan Quest and Gemix 2 are also pictured in this group as wider catalogue routes. Their individual triggers are different from the original Quantum queue.

Potion Factory: the wheel and reel wilds supply a different laboratory bonus structure. Follow the feature trigger rather than looking for Reactoonz’s collected-symbol charge.

Potion Commotion: its free-spin counter measures awarded rounds. Reactoonz’s charge meter measures winning symbols inside the current round, so the two counters are not interchangeable.

Nikola Tesla’s Incredible Machine: changed reel coverage differs from a connected cluster. The science setting is shared; the payline and feature evaluations are separate.

Reactor: symbol-changing effects alter a conventional reel result. The illustrated title is a broader science alternative, not a Reactoonz sequel.

Reactoonz slot critic’s reviews

GambleGuys.com: Play n’GO have really gone all-out with the cute factor. This game features a host of adorable, colorful alien characters all hoping to be reunited with their space bound chums. It doesn’t matter if your alien is one-eyed, two or three, there’s just something so sweet about them that you’ll have the overwhelming urge to take them home.

CasinoBloke.com: Reaching Gargantoon is not an easy task, but he will reward you generously once you get him on the reels. This is why we wouldn’t mind if Gargantoon succeeds in conquering planet Earth.

CasinoWhizz.com: Reactoonz may come across as a complicated slots but it’s not. It’s a high octane game that’s fun to play albeit high variance, the top cash prize that can be won on a single spin is 4,570x your stake.

BigwinBoard.com: Overall, however, Reactoonz is not only one of Play’n GO’s finest cluster slots, it’s also one of their best games ever released to date.

CasinoHawks.com: We liked the mix of bonus features, and the intensifying excitement once the quantum features are triggered, which is reflected really well by the background music.

Reactoonz FAQs

What is the Reactoonz RTP and max win?

The historical original catalogue reference is 96.51%. Match it to the loaded game help before using it. RTP describes theoretical long-run return, not what the next cluster sequence will pay. Reactoonz 100’s 100x feature multiplier is a separate rule.

How does the Reactoonz Quantum Leap meter work?

Winning clusters fill the five Quantum Leap charge meters during the current round. Completed meters queue modifiers, which play after the ordinary cascades stop. Further wins can charge the meters again; the round ends and the meters reset when the sequence is finished.

What is Gargantoon in Reactoonz?

Gargantoon is the wild sequence awarded when all five meters are full. It begins as one 3×3 wild, then changes to two 2×2 wilds and finally nine single-position wilds as the cascades finish between stages. It is separate from the Giantoonz double-win feature.

Does Reactoonz have free spins?

No. Reactoonz has no free-spins round. Instead, all its bonuses are the in-spin Quantum features and the Giantoonz mechanic, which are triggered by accumulating wins rather than landing scatter symbols.

Why is Reactoonz so popular with streamers?

The original’s distinctive progression is from connected alien clusters to queued Quantum effects and changing Gargantoon wild sizes. Four separate modifiers can restart the grid after ordinary cascades stop, while Giantoonz double qualifying cluster prizes independently.

What are the best slots like Reactoonz?

Reactoonz 2 is the closest comparison for the alien grid and large wilds, although its Electric Wilds and separate meters change the feature progression. Tome of Madness suits the comparison if you want cascading clusters that charge a Portal. Energoonz is the earlier related title; see the series guide for the wider family.

Can I play Reactoonz for free?

This article provides a Play for Free launch option using practice credits. Availability depends on the provider and location. Confirm the loaded full title before comparing the original panels with Reactoonz 2 or Reactoonz 100; practice credits have no cash value.

Our Verdict on Reactoonz

Reactoonz is most distinctive when a cascade appears to finish and a queued Quantum feature starts the board moving again. Gargantoon’s changing wild sizes and the separate Giantoonz multiplier add two different things to watch on the same grid. Those are the useful features to compare, rather than the alien artwork alone.

Reactoonz 2 keeps the broad cluster format but makes electric wilds central to its meters. Tome of Madness offers a smaller grid with a Portal and an Other World round. Energoonz provides the earlier family connection. The original Reactoonz remains the choice in this group for its queue of four Quantum modifiers followed by Gargantoon’s three-stage wild sequence.
