How Blue Wizard Works

The original Blue Wizard uses thirty lines over five reels and three rows. The Wizard substitutes for ordinary symbols and appears on reels two, three, four and five in the pictured and operator-hosted rules. Castle scatters start Free Games, while six or more Crystal Balls start Fire Blaze. A wild substitution, a scatter award and a Crystal Ball holding a prize are therefore different events. Stake limits belong to the installed operator configuration.

The paytable contains four premium symbols, an owl, a cauldron, a glowing ring, and a spell book, alongside five card royals (10, J, Q, K, A). The Crystal Ball can carry individual cash values of up to 50x the bet, contributing to the respin collection mechanic.

The Fire Blaze Respin Feature

Fire Blaze starts with six or more Crystal Balls and three respins. Balls remain held; a newly landed ball resets the respin counter to three. Follow the reset count without changing the stake unit

Suppose Fire Blaze begins with six held balls and three respins. A respin with no new ball reduces the remaining count; a new ball occupies another position and resets it to three. The counter tracks opportunities remaining in that feature. It does not show the number of held balls or the number of Jackpot Stars still needed. Read all three displays separately.

For a prize-unit example, a held value of 5x at a 20p total stake represents £1. Three separate qualifying held values of 5x, 2x and 3x sum to 10x, or £2, before applying any separately specified jackpot award. The stake is the complete amount for the round that triggered the feature. Multiplying a displayed cash amount by the stake again would mix units.

A free-game wild calculation has a different condition. If an ordinary qualifying line would pay £1 and the middle-reel Wizard applies 4x to that line, it pays £4. Another line that does not use that Wizard is not automatically quadrupled. This is why the position of the wild and the participating combination matter, while the Fire Blaze example instead follows occupied positions and their values.

Our Verdict

Blue Wizard’s useful distinction is between retained Crystal Ball positions and a Wizard modifying an ordinary line. One bonus follows filling positions, star collections and resets; the other follows six awarded spins, possible retriggers and qualifying wild-assisted combinations. The on-page rules illustrations let those events be compared without assuming that a shared wizard theme guarantees the same system in every sequel.

Use the original when a thirty-line display and those two distinct triggers are the features you want to understand. Choose a separately named Megaways release to compare changing reel heights. A larger advertised ways count is a description of combinations, not a statement that every spin is more valuable.
