Extra Chilli Series: Original, More Chilli and Epic Spins

Extra Chilli now has two Big Time Gaming slots: the original and September 2026’s More Chilli. Both use Megaways and reacting wins, but More Chilli adds four Chilli Bonuses. Evolution’s Epic Spins is a separate live game show. This guide compares the reel games and explains which multiplier and bonus rules change. The wider archive includes Bonanza.

Extra Chilli original: reactions and the extra reel
| Game | Year | Ways | RTP | Max win |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Extra Chilli | 2018 | Up to 117,649 | 96.15 to 96.41% | Read the installed original cap |
The 2018 original uses six vertical reels with variable symbol counts and a horizontal extra reel beneath the middle four. A ways win follows matching symbols on consecutive reels from the left; it does not need a drawn payline. Winning symbols react away, and replacements can form another win within the same paid round. The historical screenshot below shows the main reels and that lower extra reel separately. They are parts of one game, rather than two independently staked grids.
The free-games feature builds an unlimited multiplier through reacting wins. The original starts its HOT-triggered feature with eight free spins and can award further spins. Its Free Spins Gamble changes the awarded count before the feature starts, up to twenty-four. Big Time Gaming describes the first gamble as 50/50 and later steps as 60/40, with a protection point at the penultimate gamble. Read the displayed collect and loss outcomes at each stage: a chance to gain spins is also a chance to forfeit an existing award. Feature Drop is a separately paid entry where offered, not an extra free spin from an ordinary result.
The theme is a bustling Mexican market stall: card royals for low-value symbols, red, blue and green chilli peppers in the middle tiers, and a purple “Crystal” chilli as the top payer, with a Fireworks wild that only appears on the Extra Reel.
Extra Chilli More Chilli: the 2026 sequel
More Chilli launched first in Spain on 16 September 2026, ahead of its wider release a week later. Its Megaways board can reach 117,649 ways. Chilli Bonus Respins introduce four different modifiers: Duplicate Wild spreads wilds, Increased Ways guarantees at least four symbols on each reel, Double Multiplier starts at 2x and advances by two, and Chilli Wild converts green chillies on reels two to five into bonus wilds. These change symbol coverage, wild placement or multiplier progression; they are not four names for one larger payout.
Three HOT scatters award ten free spins with one randomly selected Chilli Bonus. Further scatters can add the remaining bonuses, and those modifiers stay active through the feature. The supplier lists a 30,000x ceiling and RTP up to 96.45%. That new rule set is why More Chilli belongs beside the original as a genuine sequel. Its supplier launch does not confirm that every UK casino offers it, or that the international Power Play and bonus purchase controls appear in a UK real-money version.

The live game-show cousin: Extra Chilli Epic Spins
Extra Chilli Epic Spins takes the idea into an Evolution live studio. Participants share the same five-spin base round, while crates and piñatas can reveal letters or multipliers. Forming HOT opens free spins, and the game-show sequence can continue through gamble wheels. This is a different product format from either BTG slot: the studio presentation, shared round and multiplier collection need their own rules. A live game show still has a mathematical return; changing its category does not remove RTP or make the original slot’s figure applicable.

The maths
Theoretical expected loss per £100 wagered at the 96.15% reference setting:
| Game | House edge | Per £100 wagered |
|---|---|---|
| Extra Chilli (96.15%) | 3.85% | £3.85 |
Expected loss is calculated on total wagers, not a prediction for a session.
At 96.15%, the arithmetic is £100 × 3.85% = £3.85 expected loss. This is a long-run calculation on total wagers, not the cost of one hundred spins in an individual session. At the sequel’s 96.45% upper listed setting, the equivalent would be £3.55. Optional extra stakes must be included in turnover; a higher percentage cannot be compared fairly while leaving part of the price out. See the Responsible Gambling guide for session limits and support.
A ways win and a reaction are different counts
For an illustrative six-reel layout with 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 symbol positions, multiplying those heights gives 5,040 potential full-length routes. That is the size of the arrangement, not 5,040 prizes. If a particular symbol appears twice on reel one, once on reel two and three times on reel three, there are six routes for that three-reel combination, provided it meets the game’s minimum symbol requirement. The paytable determines the value; the displayed Megaways total alone cannot.
A multiplier applies to an award, whereas a reaction is another evaluation of the board. As a simple calculation, a qualifying £2 award at 3x is £6. If a later reaction awards £1 at 4x, that adds £4, giving £10 across those two evaluations. Neither calculation predicts which symbols arrive. The important reading order is the qualifying combination, its paytable award, the applicable multiplier, then the next reaction.
History and legacy
Extra Chilli followed Bonanza in 2018, keeping a reacting Megaways structure while moving from a mine to a Mexican market. Evolution later adapted the brand as Epic Spins, and More Chilli added a second BTG slot in 2026. The original’s eight-spin award and the sequel’s ten-spin award therefore belong to different titles. A shared chilli symbol does not justify copying their triggers, gamble progression or modifiers from one to the other.
Why this game still matters
The family offers a useful distinction between reusing a win engine and adding new feature state. More Chilli retains Megaways but can lock in several different modifiers for its bonus. Epic Spins instead moves the round into a shared studio format. Neither adaptation is adequately described as just another skin of the 2018 original.
Beyond the reels
The slots are part of Big Time Gaming’s catalogue; Epic Spins is an Evolution game-show product. Supplier ownership and distribution are separate from a casino’s authorisation and installed settings. Check the exact title and operator rather than treating a historical list of casino names as current availability. Other BTG comparisons include Bonanza and Danger High Voltage.
Which progression is the closer match?
Bonanza is the closer alternative for reacting Megaways and a free-spin multiplier, while More Chilli is the direct sequel for someone comparing modifiers retained through the feature. Danger High Voltage 2 also uses Megaways, but its Megadozer supplies wilds, scatters and multiplier changes; that is different from More Chilli’s four Chilli Bonuses. Chilli Heat belongs to Pragmatic Play, so its similar peppers and title establish a theme connection rather than a series relationship. Choose the comparison by the rule you want to understand, without assuming a particular session length.
Win potential
A large casino payout needs evidence of the exact game, stake and any separately linked jackpot. Dividing a reported $1.97 million by a ten-cent stake would give 19.7 million times that stake, which does not identify an ordinary slot award or its limit. Without primary evidence identifying the award’s components, it should not serve as an Extra Chilli base-game record. More Chilli’s supplier-listed 30,000x ceiling is a different claim: it describes that specified slot’s limit, not a documented player result.
Our verdict on Extra Chilli
Editorial assessment: compare the original’s reacting board with More Chilli’s retained modifiers; treat Epic Spins as a separate studio format. The family’s useful distinction is its progression, rather than an unsupported player popularity score.
| Features | Original reaction sequence versus the sequel’s four bonus modifiers |
|---|---|
| Win potential | Original and sequel limits must be checked in their own configuration |
| Design | Mexican market artwork identifies the family, not identical rules |
| Playability | The gamble can surrender an award; it does not make the next outcome predictable |
Start with the original for the earlier Megaways structure, More Chilli for the four-modifier sequel, or Epic Spins for the live studio round. The SlotsLike archive provides wider family navigation.
Extra Chilli FAQs
Who makes Extra Chilli?
Big Time Gaming, the studio behind Bonanza and the Megaways mechanic itself.
How many Extra Chilli slots are there?
Two BTG slots are covered: Extra Chilli (2018) and Extra Chilli More Chilli (2026). Extra Chilli Epic Spins is a separate Evolution live game show.
What is the RTP of Extra Chilli?
The table retains the original 96.15–96.41% reference range. More Chilli’s supplier page lists 96.39–96.45%. Read the actual configuration and include any extra wager when comparing returns.
How does the win multiplier work?
Reacting wins build the free-games multiplier. Read the exact title’s help for its reset and modifier rules; More Chilli’s Double Multiplier is a distinct modifier that starts at 2x and advances by two.
What is Extra Chilli Epic Spins?
An Evolution live game show with a shared five-spin base round, crates, piñatas and HOT-triggered free spins. It has its own studio and gamble-wheel sequence; it is separate from both BTG reel games.
Is Extra Chilli the same as Chilli Heat?
No, Chilli Heat and Chilli Heat Megaways are separate Pragmatic Play games, unrelated to Big Time Gaming’s Extra Chilli beyond the name.
What is the biggest win on Extra Chilli?
This guide does not use an independently established largest player win. A reported casino jackpot and the slot’s own stake-multiplier ceiling must be identified separately.
Is Extra Chilli fair?
Check the actual casino’s authorisation and the installed game’s rules. A supplier’s identity alone does not establish every operator’s licence or current game availability.
