Rise of Olympus: God Powers, Free Spins and Similar Slots

Rise Of Olympus slot by PlayNGo

Rise of Olympus is Play’n GO’s five-by-five grid game in which Zeus, Poseidon and Hades can change a stalled board. Its original free-spin choice selects both a god’s assistance and a starting spin count. Origins and 1000 change those rules; the Greek-themed Age of the Gods games use a different line-and-jackpot structure.

Start with the original game’s feature sequence below, then compare it with Rise of Olympus Origins and Rise of Olympus 1000. Those titles share the gods, but change how their powers are earned. For another three-character grid, Moon Princess is a useful comparison. The illustrated Greek-themed selections farther down offer a wider change of setting and format.

How the original Rise of Olympus works

On the 5×5 board, three or more matching symbols must form a horizontal or vertical row. Removing exactly three creates a wild in the middle. Each new drop raises the multiplier. This straight-row requirement is more specific than the broad “cluster pays” label.

What Zeus, Poseidon and Hades do

Hand of God can activate after a non-winning spin. Hades changes one symbol type; Poseidon adds one or two wilds; Zeus removes two symbol types. God-symbol wins charge Wrath of Olympus: three symbols fill one section, four fill two and five fill all three. A full meter awards a round in which the gods act in sequence.

The three free-spin choices

Clearing the grid awards a choice: four Hades spins, five Poseidon spins or eight Zeus spins. The selected power activates on non-winning free spins. The multiplier carries between spins, up to x20. Refilling the meter adds four, three or two spins respectively. Clearing the grid during free spins pays an additional 100 times the bet.

The god you choose determines both the opening spin count and the help you receive. The largest initial allocation is therefore only one part of the choice. Watching the active god alongside the grid makes the sequence easier to follow: a stopped board can still change when that god intervenes. Play’n GO’s original game overview shows the characters and the feature display.

Read the god, meter and multiplier separately

Three pieces of state coexist on the original board. The active god determines the Hand of God effect. Winning god-symbol combinations fill the three-section meter. The drop multiplier changes the current award. An ordinary symbol win can advance the drop sequence without filling the god meter; a god picture merely appearing is not the same as a paying god combination.

For example, a three-symbol god win contributes one meter section. A later four-symbol god win contributes two, filling an initially empty meter across those qualifying wins. A five-symbol god win can fill all three at once. Wrath waits until ordinary wins have stopped, then applies the gods’ effects in sequence. Its free round resets the drop multiplier, so a filled meter should not be read as a multiplier value.

The free-spin choice changes two different counts. Hades starts with four spins and a full meter can add four; Poseidon starts with five and can add three; Zeus starts with eight and can add two. All three retain the drop multiplier between free spins up to 20x in the cited rules. More initial spins are not proof that a mode is universally better: the associated transformation, added wilds or removals change the board differently.

Keep clearing the grid separate from filling the meter. Clearing it in the main game starts the mode choice. During free spins a clear grid awards 100x the total stake under the cited rules; charging the meter awards the selected mode’s extra spins. The player-facing question is therefore which event just occurred, not merely whether the board animation looked dramatic.

A choice of power is a choice of board change

With Hades selected, examine which symbol type is transformed into another. The transformation changes the matching opportunities across the grid. It does not mean every visible Hades face counts as a winning god combination, and it does not add a fixed number of wild positions in the manner of Poseidon. Resolve the actual new row or column before attributing a prize to the power.

With Poseidon selected, follow the one or two wilds added to positions on the grid. Their locations matter: a wild can complete a qualifying horizontal or vertical run, while a wild placed elsewhere need not create one. This remains a line-through-the-grid condition, rather than collecting a count of any matching symbols anywhere as in Rise of Olympus 1000.

With Zeus selected, two symbol types are removed. Their removal lets the remaining symbols drop and replacement positions refill. That can change where a combination forms, rather than assigning a prize merely because symbols disappeared. Distinguish a power-driven removal from a paying combination being removed after its award. Both animate the board, but only the latter establishes that a win was just paid.

These three questions make the choice readable: which type changed, where did a wild appear, or what space was cleared? The initial spin count is useful information alongside the power. It is not enough on its own to rank the three modes or predict a complete bonus result.

Rise of Olympus, Origins or 1000?

Origins: relics strengthen the gods

Rise of Olympus Origins keeps a 5×5 grid but changes how the characters earn their powers. Winning combinations of god symbols can activate the corresponding ability; a combination of five guarantees it. Relic wins strengthen the associated god’s next power, with a Power Indicator showing the upgrade. Lower-value winning combinations also create wilds.

The free-spin structure is a useful distinction. Origins awards ten spins for clearing the grid, with all three powers active, rather than asking you to select one god. It is the closer family comparison if you want to see the brothers working together throughout the feature. The original gives the choice itself a larger role. See Play’n GO’s Origins rules overview for the relic and power sequence.

1000: matching symbols can pay anywhere

Rise of Olympus 1000 switches to scatter pays: eight matching symbols anywhere on the board form a win. That is a substantial change from the original’s horizontal or vertical rows. The gods appear as multiplier types, progressing from Hades to Poseidon to Zeus, rather than supplying the original set of board modifiers.

Three or more scatters award 12 free spins. Multipliers used in winning rounds accumulate during that feature, while multiple multiplier values on the grid are added together before being applied to the round win. Compare 1000 if you want the family’s setting with a different matching system and an emphasis on multiplier upgrades. The shared title does not mean the original’s free-spin choices apply. The supplier’s 1000 explanation sets out those differences.

For the original’s detailed matching and bonus rules, consult the Rise of Olympus game rules. Keep the full game title in view when comparing a help screen: Origins, Extreme and 1000 are separate editions.

Grid powers or a Greek theme?

Moon Princess is a closer starting point for the three-character feature structure than a conventional Greek-themed reel slot. Both use characters to alter a matching grid. Rise of Olympus gives that role to Zeus, Poseidon and Hades; Moon Princess uses Love, Star and Storm and its own Trinity progression.

Reactoonz is another grid comparison, with a larger playing area and an energy-based route to Gargantoon. The mythology games below remain theme alternatives. Their artwork alone does not establish that they use the same matching rules or character powers. Play’n GO discusses these distinctions in its guide to grid slots.

Games like Rise Of Olympus

The illustrated Age of the Gods titles are Greek-theme comparisons with different reel features. For the original matching-grid behaviour, the Moon Princess and Reactoonz explanations above are closer guides. Read the individual distinctions below before choosing by a god’s portrait.

Age Of The Gods Apollo Powers slot game
Age Of The Gods Apollo Powers

Age of the Gods Apollo Powers follows Apollo and a reel-based respin system. Its illustrated sun imagery provides a theme route, while Rise of Olympus uses horizontal and vertical matching on one square grid. A reel respin does not automatically recreate the original’s god-symbol meter or clear-grid trigger. Use the precise Apollo title and installed rules when following its moving wild feature; the site’s historical catalogue label alone does not establish the same free-spin options or return configuration.

Age Of The Gods Goddess Of Wisdom slot game
Age Of The Gods Goddess Of Wisdom

Age of the Gods Goddess of Wisdom uses twenty lines and an Owl scatter trigger. The operator-hosted rules offer Shield, Helmet or Armor in the Battle Game: ten spins without a multiplier, seven at 4x, or fourteen at 2x. Expanding Athena wilds replace the other symbols during the chosen bonus. The decision resembles selecting a mode, but its spin counts, fixed modifiers and line wins differ from the original Olympus god powers and retained drop multiplier.

Age Of The Gods Fate Sisters slot game
Age Of The Gods Fate Sisters

Age of the Gods Fate Sisters gives a different three-way choice. The operator’s rules distinguish fifteen spins with a changing multiplier, ten with wilds frozen for three subsequent spins, and eight with three random wilds added per spin. This changes the retained state as well as the spin award. Rise of Olympus instead associates each mode with a god’s board-changing power. Comparing the mode names alone would miss whether it is a position, a multiplier or an active power that carries between spins.

Age Of The Gods God Of Storms slot game
Age Of The Gods God Of Storms

Age of the Gods God of Storms makes stacked Ship Wilds move left through Wild Wind Respins. The operator’s description requires a fully landed Ship Wild on reel two, three or four. Its respin multiplier progresses up to 5x, and the feature ends as the final ship leaves reel one. This is a positional movement comparison. It does not use Olympus’s three-god grid-clear choice or its free-spin drop multiplier reaching 20x.

Apollo Powers: a Greek setting with reel respins; identify the exact title before transferring any grid rules.

Goddess of Wisdom: a line-based bonus choice with specified spin counts and fixed modifiers.

Fate Sisters: three modes distinguish freezing positions, added wilds and a changing multiplier.

God of Storms: the ship’s route across reels determines the respin sequence.
