Slots Like Wild West Gold: The Trilogy Pragmatic Actually Counts

Wild West Gold built its name on one image: a multiplier wild that lands, sticks, and refuses to leave for the rest of the bonus. Most lists of slots like Wild West Gold count four games; Pragmatic Play’s own site counts three, the 2020 original, the 2022 Megaways version and 2025’s Blazing Bounty, and the fourth name usually cited, Wild West Duels, appears nowhere in the studio’s series branding. This guide covers the real trilogy first, then gives Duels an honest hearing on its own merits.

All three Wild West Gold games at a glance
Roster and RTPs confirmed against Pragmatic Play’s own game pages, 12 July 2026:
| Game | Year | Layout | RTP | Max win |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wild West Gold | 2020 | 5×4, 40 lines | 96.51% | 6,750x* |
| Wild West Gold Megaways | 2022 | 6 reels, up to 117,649 ways | 96.44% | 5,000x* |
| Wild West Gold Blazing Bounty | 2025 | 5×5 cluster pays | 96.48% | 7,500x† |
*Pragmatic’s pages don’t state max wins for the first two games; those figures come from BigWinBoard and other independent reviews, and note some outlets quote 10,000x for the original, a discrepancy we flag rather than settle. †Blazing Bounty’s 7,500x is the one figure Pragmatic prints on its own page. Release years are from independent databases; Pragmatic doesn’t date its listings.

Every game, reviewed
1. Wild West Gold (2020)

Launched 26 March 2020, the original is a 5×4, 40-line game whose wilds arrive with 2x, 3x or 5x multipliers attached, and when more than one wild sits in a win, the multipliers add together rather than multiply, a detail straight from Pragmatic’s own page. Three scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5 award eight free spins in which every multiplier wild on the middle reels sticks in place to the end of the round; sheriff badges retrigger 4, 8, 12 or 20 extra spins, and if the whole bonus somehow pays under 10x, the game tops the win up to that floor. BigWinBoard rates it the full 5/5 for volatility with a 6,750x ceiling at the default 96.51% RTP.

2. Wild West Gold Megaways (2022)

The 30 May 2022 sequel moves the saloon onto the licensed Megaways engine, up to 117,649 ways across six reels of shifting heights, while keeping the franchise’s heart intact: Pragmatic’s page confirms wild multipliers and a double-chance feature in the base game, with sticky wilds and retriggers in the bonus. The RTP eases fractionally to 96.44% (with 95.35% and 94.32% operator builds in circulation), and independent reviews put the cap at 5,000x, oddly the lowest of the three, a pattern Megaways conversions of payline hits seem doomed to repeat.

3. Wild West Gold Blazing Bounty (2025)

Released 2 June 2025, and confirmed by Pragmatic’s own launch announcement as an expansion of the Wild West Gold series, Blazing Bounty rebuilds the game a second time, onto a 5×5 grid where wins form as clusters of five or more connecting symbols. Wilds still land carrying 2x, 3x or 5x and still stack their values in shared wins; the bonus awards 10 free spins with sticky wilds whose multiplier bands scale with the triggering scatters, topping out at 10x, 25x per wild. Pragmatic prints the 7,500x max win on the game page itself, alongside a 96.48% top-build RTP. BigWinBoard’s data adds texture: a hit every 4.58 spins, a bonus roughly every 449, and max-win odds around 1 in 30.4 million.

Wild West Duels: the fourth game that isn’t
Wild West Duels (2023) shares Pragmatic Play, a frontier town and a love of wild reels, so it gets folded into this family constantly. The studio doesn’t do the folding: its own game page presents Duels as a standalone cowboy title, no “Wild West Gold” in the name, no series framing, while its Blazing Bounty announcement explicitly names the series it was expanding, and Duels isn’t in it. Mechanically the difference is real too: Duels is a 5×5, 15-line game at 96.00% RTP built on dig-for-wilds and duel bonuses with expanding wild reels, not the trilogy’s signature sticky multiplier wilds. It’s a decent western, it just answers to a different sheriff, so you’ll find it in the alternatives table below rather than the roster above.

The maths: three RTPs within seven hundredths
What a hundred £1 spins costs at each game’s published default RTP:
| Game | House edge | £1 × 100 spins |
|---|---|---|
| Wild West Gold (96.51%) | 3.49% | £3.49 |
| Wild West Gold Megaways (96.44%) | 3.56% | £3.56 |
| Blazing Bounty (96.48%) | 3.52% | £3.52 |
✓ Calculated from the default RTPs on Pragmatic Play’s own game pages, checked 12 July 2026
Seven hundredths of a percent separate the three, so long-run return is a non-factor here; what actually differs is how each grid feeds the sticky wilds. Every entry also ships in lower operator RTP builds, so the paytable at your casino is worth thirty seconds before you stake anything. For how held wilds compare across studios, our sticky wilds guide ranks seven of the format’s best; session tools live on our Responsible Gambling page.
History and legacy
The original landed in March 2020 and became one of the games that defined Pragmatic Play’s high-volatility house style, its additive sticky multipliers were soon echoed across the studio’s catalogue. The Megaways conversion followed the studio’s 2021 to 22 engine-licensing wave, and after that the trail went quiet until June 2025, when Blazing Bounty relaunched the name on cluster pays, the only Pragmatic franchise to have shipped on paylines, Megaways and clusters. Western slots were already crowded territory when the original arrived: NetEnt’s Dead or Alive had owned the sticky-wild saloon since 2009, and Nolimit City’s Tombstone was pushing the theme to nastier volatility extremes a year earlier. Wild West Gold’s contribution was making that formula friendlier, retriggers, a 10x floor, multipliers that add up predictably.
Why this matters for UK players
Blazing Bounty’s Super Free Spins purchase (500x stake, per Pragmatic’s page) is a bonus-buy, so it’s unavailable in UK real-money play under UKGC rules, UK players get the same game minus the shortcut, with the naturally triggered bonus unchanged.
Beyond the reels
Pragmatic Play (Gibraltar) Limited holds UK Gambling Commission account 56015, carrying an active Gambling Software (Remote) licence with no regulatory actions on record, re-checked against the UKGC public register on 12 July 2026.
What players say
Player talk around this family is dominated by one moment: the third sticky wild landing with spins still left. The original remains the sentimental favourite in forum threads for exactly that setup, while Megaways players are cooler, the 5,000x cap on a bigger, faster grid strikes many as a downgrade dressed as an upgrade. Blazing Bounty is the one currently generating clips, with its 10x, 25x wild band doing the heavy lifting; cluster sceptics counter that it doesn’t feel like Wild West Gold any more. Nobody, in our reading, argues the trilogy is under-volatile.
Big wins: clips aplenty, receipts none
YouTube is full of Wild West Gold bonuses stacking three 5x wilds, and Blazing Bounty max-win videos started circulating within weeks of launch. What none of this footage comes with is verification, Pragmatic Play doesn’t publish replay links or confirm individual player wins for this series, so no stake, date or operator can be independently checked. We treat the 1-in-30.4-million max-win odds BigWinBoard extracted from Blazing Bounty’s game sheet as the honest headline number here, and leave the thumbnails to YouTube.
Which Wild West Gold slot to saddle first
| If you want… | Play | Why |
|---|---|---|
| The definitive sticky-wild bonus | Wild West Gold | The original 8-spin round with additive 2x/3x/5x wilds and a 10x floor |
| The biggest confirmed ceiling | Blazing Bounty | 7,500x printed on Pragmatic’s own page, with 10x, 25x sticky wilds at full trigger |
| Shifting reels and more ways | Wild West Gold Megaways | Up to 117,649 ways with the sticky bonus intact, accept the 5,000x cap going in |
| A western duel, not a series entry | Wild West Duels | Standalone by Pragmatic’s own framing, expanding wild reels rather than sticky multipliers |
Our verdict on Wild West Gold
SlotsLike score: 8/10, the cleanest sticky-multiplier design in the western genre, disciplined enough to stay a trilogy.
| Features | 8/10, additive sticky wilds are simple to grasp and brutal in effect, and each sequel reframes rather than reskins them |
|---|---|
| Win potential | 7/10, 5,000x, 7,500x ceilings are strong without touching the six-figure franchises |
| Design | 8/10, one of Pragmatic’s best-drawn worlds, from the 2020 saloon to Blazing Bounty’s sunset canyon |
| Playability | 7/10, high volatility across the board; the original’s 10x bonus floor is the only merciful touch |

How many Wild West Gold games are there?
Three, per Pragmatic Play’s own site and launch announcements: Wild West Gold (2020), Wild West Gold Megaways (2022) and Wild West Gold Blazing Bounty (2025).
Is Wild West Duels part of the series?
No, Pragmatic presents it as a standalone western with different mechanics, and it carries no Wild West Gold branding. It’s covered here as an alternative, not a roster entry.
What is the max win in Wild West Gold?

Wilds carry 2x, 3x or 5x multipliers that add together in shared wins; during free spins they lock in place until the round ends.
Which entry has the best RTP?
The original, at 96.51%, but only by 0.03 to 0.07% over the other two, close enough to ignore.
Are these slots fair?
Yes, Pragmatic Play (Gibraltar) Limited holds an active UK Gambling Commission licence (account 56015) with independently tested RNGs.
